PHSC plc sponsored several award including the “Rise to the Challenge” award which recognises volunteers who have given up their time to promote healthy activities. The 2013 winner was Donna Carr and her volunteer team who organise Maidstone parkrun. This is a free weekly event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday. It is not a race against other people, but a 5k timed run which can be for fun or as part of a training plan.
