- Noise surveys
- Indoor Air Quality Air Tests
- LEV examinations
- Legionella assessment and management
Noise assessments assess the average exposure an individual is subjected to throughout the day and also measure any ‘peaks’ of noise which could result in instant hearing damage. Our noise assessments further consider background noise levels to ensure that others not in direct contact with high noise emitting equipment are not at risk.
Indoor air quality tests are conducted to identify if there are any hazardous substances in the air which could harm workers, and also to monitor the quality of your ventilation systems. For example, poorly ventilated workplaces may result in build-up of CO2, and could be an indicator that your ventilation system is inadequate for the number of workers / type of work. This is particularly helpful when considering the effectiveness of your COVID-19 ventilation controls.
Examples of air quality tests we have conducted include:
- Mercury emissions
- Cyanide exposure
- Welding fume.
Effective LEV or dust/fume extraction can carry away airborne contaminants before they can be breathed in. Our examinations ensure that key aspects of your extraction system are considered and examined / measured where necessary to provide assurance they are effective. This will include matters such as capture hoods, velocity, air flow speeds as part of your wider management control of hazardous substances.
Legionella assessment is required to identify the risks of legionella proliferating in your water systems. Poorly maintained water systems can be fatal, especially in premises where vulnerable groups of people may be present, including older people and those with pre-existing health conditions / auto-immune suppressant conditions.
Our assessment will identify areas where your water system requires improvement, and will include a management plan in line with HSE Code of Practice L8 to guide you in the arrangements and systems required to maintain a safe system.
